For now, math content on a web page or in the Math Viewer is only spoken and displayed visually by JAWS and is not shown in braille. Refer to JAWS16 documentation online.
Math Viewer displays the mathematics that a JAWS user is interacting with in a separate window. This is different from the visual rendering of MathML provided by a native renderer or MathJax on the webpage itself.

Download sample HTML file with MathML equations to test out other browsers.
No additional plug-ins are required. MathML is being rendered natively by your reading application.
This setup does not support braille access. It supports Speech-Navigation and Visual-Focus Highlighting using the JAWS Math Viewer, and Speech-Sound Effects using JAWS' speech and sounds manager.
Some visual access modes are available per JAWS 16 documentation, but support can be problematic when attempting to read large tabular equations, matrices, or complex equations that span multiple lines.
