For now, math content on a web page or in the Math Viewer is only spoken and displayed visually by JAWS and is not shown in braille. Refer to JAWS16 documentation online.
Math Viewer displays the mathematics that a JAWS user is interacting with in a separate window. This is different from the visual rendering of MathML provided by a native renderer or MathJax on the webpage itself.
|Application||Internet Explorer (desktop) 11|
Download sample HTML file with MathML equations to test out other browsers.
No additional plug-ins are required. MathML is being rendered natively by your reading application.
This setup supports Visual-Displays and Speech-Reads. For the supported Speech access modes, JAWS will not read the equation until virtual cursor focus has landed on the equation using left/right arrow keys.
Per Freedom Scientific's documentation, all of the visual and speech access modes should all be available using Math Viewer, but we were unable get several options to work during our tests.
